He was the Head, Division of Gastrointestinal Sciences, Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore, and Director, Institute of Gastroenterology & Liver diseases, Madras Medical Mission, Chennai. He is past President, Indian Society of Gastroenterology (National) and Former Counsellor, Asia-Pacific Association of Gastroenterology.
